No. The recipient just sees the tip amount and date of payment.
We send a payment receipt to your email address.
It will show in their tippl account immediately. The money is not made available for a few days to ensure we are able to return it to you if you made a mistake as per our returns policy. Thereafter we pay them the money on their next scheduled pay date.
We use the fee to cover the costs of making card payments. Every time you make a card payment the card companies charge a fee — that's how Visa and Mastercard make their millions. Card fees are normally included in the price of whatever you are buying. We can't do that (because you choose the amount, and we pass on the full tip), so we add the card fee on top. We clearly display the processing fee to you before payment.
The processing fee is typically 3.9 %. To be completely transparent, we clearly display the processing fee to you in dollars and cents before payment.
This depends on who the tip is being paid to. We'll let you know during the checkout process, and also state this in your payment receipt.
